History
Initially
the idea to form up an Ahadhiyya School in Minan Masjid was put forward by
Marhoom Mausook Haji, Jiffry Fuad Haji and the trustee board of Minan Masjid to enhance the Islamic education of students around Demetagoda area.
Marhoom Zubair haji, Marhoom Zavahir Haji, and many others took the
responsibility to run this religious center as Madrasathul Minan Ahadhiyya School. Usthaad
Siddeeq Alim and his staff were the pioneers to work as the first principle and
teachers of Minan Ahadhiyya School with around 20 to 30 students. In the
beginning, the teachers were given a small monthly allowance sponsored by Jiffry
Haji.
In 1985
Minan Ahadhiyya School was recognized as the 103rd Ahadhiyya School
throughout the island. Minan Ahadhiyya School was registered under the Colombo District
Ahadhiyya Schools Federation in the year 2008. (Hijri 1429 Jamadhul Aakhir 7)
Later Hamzi
Haji took measures to donate with his wealth in which he alone managed to pay
the allowance of teachers. Marhoom Lafir J.P. contributed physically for the
betterment of Ahadhiyya as well as Al haj M.R.M. Rafi and some other philanthropists
sponsored to purchase uniform materials for the Ahadhiyya students. Yusuf Haji,
Abdul Jaleel Haji, Ali Haji, and Gafoor Haji contributed to us monthly.
Classes are
conducted separately for boys and girls from grade 1 to grade 11 (O/L) in all
three languages. The Ahadhiyya syllabus is mainly based on 4 subjects namely As Seera wath Thariq, Al Akhlaq, Fiqhul Islam and Akeedha. Along with those 4 subjects, Dua and Hadees taught to students additionally.
